I believe Firefox uses JS 1.7 or 8 while Opera uses 2.1.

Your JavaScript version in IE is the same as mine. Finally, does the 7.0.14.0 version appear in your Add/Remove list?

If it does, you can d/l it with IE because it removes the Flash plugins from every browser that is installed. Do those links work for you with IE? If Secunia confirms that you have that very old version of Flash installed, (7.0.14.0) you need to get rid of it but I'm not certain the Adobe uninstaller works for versions that old. I'm pretty sure you need Flash installed and working to use both the version test and to d/l the uninstaller. Have you ever used the Secunia Online Inspector? It checks the version and location of things like Sun Java and Flash player (but not JavaScript) and it would be interesting to see what results you get (you need Sun Java for it to work but you should be OK if you use IE to run it). Your Add/Remove details appear normal for a computer that has Sun Java and the Active X and non active X versions of the Flash plugin. Don't do anything about that though until a regular Firefox user tells you how you save your profile, bookmarks etc. I wonder if the installation and uninstallation of No Script, and, maybe, the System Restore, has left your copy of Firefox somewhat confused and I'm wondering if an uninstall and reinstall of Firefox would help. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with Java not working but I thought I'd mention it. I was having some dificulties with other things and did a system restore (to a point after I had installed the add-on) but for some reason the add-on was gone after that. This was recommened to me in the security forums. A little while before I encountered this problem, I had installed a FireFox add-on that disabled JavaScript called "No-Script". Does the fact that flash and Java are working in IE mean that the problem is with my browser or could it be that both Java and Flash are actually not working correctly? Let me know if you need any more information.

FLASH PLAYER PLUGIN FOR FIREFOX SLOWS WINDOWS
I am running Windows Vista, and my FireFox is up to date as far as I can tell. The only other thing I want to mention is that although everything appears to be funtioning in Internet Explorer, the last time I used it, it crashed on me and said the flash ad-on caused it to encounter a problem and had to close. Please note that until last week, Flash and Java were working just fine in FireFox. Or does 10 plugin not mean I should have the 10.x.xx.x version? I am not sure what "debug player" is. I believe I have a more recent version since I have the Flash Player 10 plugin, and perhaps this is due to my never using IE. says that Internet Explorer is running player version 7,0,14,0 and that "Debug player" is not installed. says that "the web browser can indeed run Java applets" and that my web browser, Internet Explorer Version 7, supports JavaScript version 1.3. I should also mention that in Internet Explorer (which I NEVER use), Java and Flash appear to be working and I can see videos on YouTube.

The thing is, I checked my add/remove programs as well as my uninstall log in HJT and both say I have Java 6 update 13 and Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin and Adobe Flash Player ActiveX. One problem with this is that this link is not working for me (perhaps it requires Java or flash to view its contents? does it work for any of you?)

YouTube help says to completely uninstall flash before re-installing and gives a link from the adobe website where it is supposed to explain how to correctly uninstall it. I also went to to try to check my flash but nothing happens and when I click on the permanent link nothing comes up. It stated that Java Script is NOT currently working for my browser. I have checked my settings and found that JavaScript is in fact enabled for this browser however, when I went to Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. For example, if I go to and try to play a video, an error message comes up saying: When using Mozilla Firefox, I am unable to play videos or get certain websites to work correctly due to either my JavaScript or Flash.
